Coaching -- Health & Safety
For the past 5 years Jackie has led a coaching program which trains front line health care workers to create a culture of safety in the workplace. Working in collaboration with co-designer and facilitator, Shea Miles, and with Health Authority Safety Advisors, she has developed an award-winning peer leader coaching program. In 2010 the program won an Excellence in BC Health Care Award for Workplace Health Innovation. This program has been delivered in the Vancouver Island, Vancouver Coastal and Provincial Health Authorities.
Jackie has also designed and delivered education programs for front line leaders working to stop violence in healthcare workplaces.
Leadership Development
Jackie's leadership workshops grow inner and outer leadership capacities: self-insight and self-management, resilience, deep communication skills, conflict resolution, leading with vision and organizational development which empowers and engages members/employees.
Recently she collaborated in launching the Inner Activist Program for social and environmental change agents. This residential and on-line education program develops essential emotional and psychological skills to for transformation leaders.
Strategic Planning Working with community groups, international development agencies and unions, Jackie has led a variety of strategic planning processes. Some of her clients are:

Global Warming Education
As part of her commitment to taking action on climate change, Jackie collaborated with six national and provincial unions to design a one (or two)-day program entitled "Climate Change - It's a Union Issue". She continues to update and deliver this course to various unions.
Course Design and Facilitation
As an educational designer, Jackie draws her approach from learning traditions which emphasize learner empowerment and deep inquiry. She draws inspiration from popular and adult education traditions, feminist education practices, the Art of Hosting, Appreciative Inquiry, and cross-cultural communication. Over a number of decades, Jackie has developed a wide range of courses and workshops which have been delivered with community groups and unions and federations. She continues to offer design services.
Facilitation Jackie has many years of experience in facilitating meetings, gatherings, or any other processes where people come together to communicate, explore differences and collaborate. She combines strong listening and synthesizing skills with a deep respect for the wisdom of collective process and a commitment to equitable participation. From time to time she offers courses in facilitation skills.
